The nVidia Quadro FX 5800 graphics card has 240 programmable parallel cores while its 4GB of dedicated graphics memory is designed to rapidly visualise and interpret massive data sets. Using the FX 5800 card’s vast image processing capabilities, designers will be able to render and view interactive 4D models – three-dimensional models that are represented as they evolve using time lapse visualisation. The nVidia Quadro FX 5800 card has a memory bandwidth of up to 102Gbps (gigabits per second) and fill rates of more than 52 billion texels per second. The 4GB card supports OpenGL and Microsoft DirectX 10 applications and multi-device visualisation environments with Quadro G-Sync II. The Quadro card supports 10bit colour. This enables billions rather than millions of colour variations to be displayed. Available from PNY Technologies, the nVidia Quadro FX 5800 graphics card is priced at $3,499 (£2,266).
